We are learning about World War 2 for our World Around Us topic.
We have found this very interesting and we have enjoyed finding out about life long ago and making things to do with the war.
We had our assembly on Friday 8th November. Lots of our parents and grandparents came to see us. We dressed up as evacuees, sang songs, showed off our hard work and told everyone about the war. We also told everyone why we have poppies to remember those who fought in the war.
After our assembly we went for a walk to the church hall to pretend we were evacuees and then we visited the war graves and walked to Necarne to see the old war hospital. We found out lots about how the war affected Irvinestown.
We visited Enniskillen castle - we had a great day seeing inside an Anderson Shelter and dressing up as WW2 soldiers and hearing about how important Fermanagh was during the war. We had a great day out!
