Year 2
In Primary 2, learning is fun and engaging! We follow the Northern Ireland Curriculum closely, ensuring every child experiences a variety of teaching styles so they can reach their full potential. Our lessons include Numeracy, Literacy, ICT, Music, P.E., R.E., The World Around Us, PATHS, and much more. Through an activity-based, hands-on approach, children learn in a way that is interactive and enjoyable. We strive to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to become a confident, happy learner.
Outdoor Learning
We love to play in our school garden. There are so many different areas to play in. There is a big sand pit, a play house, mud kitchen, water tray, building site, den building area, climbing logs and balance beams, outdoor classroom, planted area, water wall, pirate ship and a big hill to climb and roll down. We always have such fun outside and we even get messy sometimes which is great!
Play Based Learning
In Primary 2, we engage in play-based learning activities every day. These activities are carefully linked to our current topics and include a variety of skill-building experiences that incorporate literacy and numeracy. Through play, children have the opportunity to collaborate with others, explore ideas, and develop a wide range of essential skills in a fun and meaningful way.
Maths Week
We had great fun during Maths Week. We took part in a wide variety of activities both in the class and outside. We did some problem solving, played Maths games, did some investigations in groups and played online games.
